Another Adventure

"Let's go out to the golf course, and I will show you what I have learned," Daisy said to Ruby. "Okay" said Ruby. She had come home from the Prevention Fair, grabbed a quick nap and a short visit with Olo, Mereyann and Bramblerose when they came to pick up Holly the bunny, who had been staying with Ruby while Olo and Mereyann were camping.

The ladies spent a lovely afternoon on the golf course, even though a raindrop or two fell on them. When it came time to leave, Daisy reached into her pockets, and then made an exahustive search of her golf bag and all other possible places before she announced "I think I locked the keys in the trunk of my car!"

Normally this would not be a problem. The friends had long since worked it out, each one carrying a set of the other's keys with them. However, this time Ruby's handbag had been locked in the trunk as well, for safety sake. They sat down and thought about their dilemma.

Ruby realized that Daisy's keys were not in her purse, but in one of her tote bags in her house, however, her house was locked, and her house keys were in the trunk with Daisy's. She could not remember if she had a spare key hidden outside her house or not. They then discussed who to call, they determined that Callalily Loamsdown, a friend from church who lives nearby, would be the best choice. They had plans to attend a movie with her later in the evening anyway. Daisy made the call and Callalily came and they drove to Ruby's cottage.

Ruby was praying, "Please let there be a key available" although deep inside she suspected there was not. She was right. No key was hidden outside. The back door was locked up tight. The tiny Callalily offered to be lifted into a window if they could find one open. They could not. Ruby was on the verge of tears when she decided to give her front door a try, just to say she did. Low and behold... it was open. Both she and Callalily danced a little jig and thanked the Lord.

Ruby quickly found Daisy's spare keys. All three ladies jumped back into Callalily's car, went back to the golf course and unlocked Daisy's trunk. There was just enough time for a slice of celebratory pizza before they went to the movie.

Ruby and Daisy toasted Callalily for coming to their rescue.
