Whew!

It was 9:30 p.m. Saturday evening when Ruby walked in the door and kicked her shoes off. "Blimey! I am beat!" she said. "What an unusual and full day this has been!"

It began early, because she wanted to go to the 8 a.m Weight Watchers Meeting. After that she had arrangements to meet Daisy at the International Festival. They cruised through the booths. Ruby bought a book that the author signed for her. She talked to people in Americorps both. Ruby and Daisy bought some wonderful tote bags made in Kenya. They watched dancing demonstrations until about 10:30, when Ruby was scheduled to help out at the Constabulary booth at the Prevention Fair.

The Prevention Fair was full of fun things for kids and lots of information about safety and drug prevention was provided as well. There were free hot dogs, cookies and drinks. There were games set up as well.

Ruby worked hard fighting crime by giving away raffle tickets, and handing out fliers and freebees until she decided to take a break. She got her free hot dog and some water to drink she watched the festivities go on around her as she ate. Then she headed for the restrooms before returning to her post.

The restroom doors were open, she just walked in assuming she was in the the right one, and learning in the most embarrassing way that she was not! Ruby rectified this error immediately. She told no one about this and went immediately back to her post and worked diligently until her embarassment wore off. Hopefully nobody else saw her! "Sometimes I am such a ditz!" she muttered to herself.

More on this day in the next chapter.
