In The Mood

Ruby rushed home from the constabulary, put the hotdogs in the crockpot and prepared vegies for a vegie tray. Soon Daisy arrived and they attended to the last minute details before the guests started to arrive. It was Bunko night.

The guests are like Ruby's second family. She has known all of them for years, and it had been a couple of months since she has seen some of them, and even longer for others. She had a lot catching up to do .

The theme for the party this time was "football-tailgate party." Ruby's counter was spread with a buffet of hot dogs (with chili available for those inclined), chips, vegies, potato salad and pop. There was a foot-ball shaped container that had chips, dip and salsa in it.

The games went well this time, but not a lot of Bunkos.. Ice cream was served and the prizes were awarded. The prizes had a sports theme, Nerf footballs, water bottles, etc. Both of the new members won prizes, and that is always very nice. Ruby won 12 sets and lost 12 sets, which was bad enough not to win any big prizes, but not bad enough to get the boobie prize.

Everyone posed for a picture with their prizes.

The guests spent the rest of the evening chatting and laughing. Charlie Danderfluff asked Ruby to play a tune on the piano, so she played "In the Mood" for them. Although performance was less than flawless, the guests responded with applause, and seemed pleased and surprised at Ruby's somewhat meager piano skill.

By the time the guests left, Ruby was totally exahusted, but had to spend some time settling down before bed. She put in a DVD of CSI and watched it for a while before turning in. She had another big day ahead of her.
