Ruby and “Daisy” awoke to the sound of mourning doves cooing and a woodpecker that “Daisy” thought was pounding on the side of the house. Ruby and “Daisy” enjoyed the different types if birds they saw in the desert. Many of them congregated in the large Saguaro Cactus across the street. The birds in the area included the previously mentioned Mourning Doves and Woodpeckers. Also, observed were Gamble Quail, Mocking birds, and Mexican Love Birds.
Ruby and “Daisy” spent Tuesday easing into their vacation. It started with a shopping trip to pick up a few necessities. Next, a visit to, Sacho and Myrtle (Cora’s friends). They fed them lovely sandwiches and tea. Myrtle strongly recommended that Ruby and “Daisy” not miss “Locky-Pocky” on their trip up to the Grand Canyon the next day. Ruby told them about the lovely grilled steaks she had for dinner at Marigold’s house. “I am hungry for a good steak.” Ruby thought.
Ruby is shy about swimming because of her increasingly Rubinesque figure, but the opportunity presented itself in this senior citizen’s community and she took advantage of it. The afternoon was spent swimming in the sun. Ruby was a child again, and she loved it.
