Do-Over!

"I have a stat report assigned to you" said Tigerlily, to Ruby. Ruby had just arrived and went right to work on the assingment. It was quite a lengthy dictation and she wanted to make sure she got it done and done right. In about 20 minutes the assignment was completed. She snatched it off the printer, stapled its many pages together, and sent it to its appropriate place via the pneumatic tube.

Ruby then set about getting ready for the rest of the day. She got a list of reports to be transcribed, she got out her fan, she situated her chair and then began working on the regular work of the day.

Suddenly, she looked up to see the doctor talking to Tigerlily who had dictated the stat report "I just realized I royally messed up that dictation" he said. "I would like you to destroy the first dictation, and I will do it over."

"Blood and Sand!" cussed Ruby under her breath. Although she knew the lines of the now worthless report would still count toward her day's effort, and she would get paid the same; there was something very upsetting about having 20-minutes of one's best effort tossed in the trash!

"He must have heard me", Ruby later told Camelia Broadbelt."He stopped by my desk, gave me a chocolate bar, and apologized for making double work!".
