Ruby is happy because today she receives her wages. The price of petrol these days has really put the squeeze on her pocketbook! It is also Ruby's Day off, another reason she is happy. She needs to pick up a few things at the grocery store, get the oil changed in her car, and then in the afternoon it is off to the constabulary for her volunteer work . I strongly suspect she and her closest friend, Ivy Tighfield, will be doing something this evening. That is, of course if Ivy doesn't have a date.
