How is Your Love Life?

Every time Ruby runs into Artie Grubb he always asks her the same question. "So.. how's your love life?"

Ruby never had a very good response to this question, because based on the standards of popular culture and its definition of love, she has NO love life. Furthermore dwelling on this fact makes her depressed. A day like Valentines Day has the potential of filling psych wards and emergency rooms with melancholy males and females who just don't have what it takes to be anybody's valentine.

Through years of practice, Ruby has stumbled on a solution that does not leave her depressed, yet she does not have to totally ignore the holiday. She just realized that love has a deeper and more lasting meaning that popular culture would ever imply. Ruby has lots of people who love her, and she finds joy in the holiday not by getting valentines, but by giving them.

"I received the following acrostic in my E-mail this week" said Ruby.

..For God so loVed the world,
.......That He gAve
............His onLy
............BegottEn
...................SoN
.....................That whosoever
........BelievethIn Him
..........Should Not perish,
........But have Everlasting life.
John 3:16

"Now that is love to live for!"
