Today, We Celebrate Our Independence Day!

Ruby and “Daisy” met for dinner after Ruby was done with her volunteer work. They then made their plans to celebrate Independence Day.

It started with their tradition of watching the movie “Independence Day” They know the movie well, and relish it every time they watch it. They try to warn the president to leave for shelter earlier. They shreek in the scary parts, laugh at the funny parts, close their eyes in the icky parts, and when the president makes his speech to the make-shift air corps that are to save the day... they let up a cheer.

By the end of the movie, they were in a celebratory mood, and prepared their schedule for the next day:
9-ish: Pancake Breakfast
10-ish Parade
11-ish Bow-Tie Bash
12-1 Buy tickets for the play, lunch, browsing temporary shops
2:00 Play
4:00 Movie: The Notebook
6:45 The performance of Mungo’s Band at the Battle of the Bands
8:00 Beer Garden
