Vacation Part VIII: Another Kind of Town

“Oh! We are nearly out of gas,” cried “Daisy” as they loaded themselves in the Ford Focus.” Finding a place for petrol required a back track of a few miles.

After the tank was filled and they were preparing to leave, Ruby spied subtle movement in the horse field next to the station. She peered steadily and once again she saw the movement After this happened a third time she said to “Daisy” “I believe there is some kind of small 4-legged animal in that field.”

“Daisy” grabbed her camera and they walked over to the fence. It was a mother and baby Prairie dog. The mother rushing to carry the baby home, after realizing they were being watched. As time passed, little brown heads popped up everywhere, and what was taken for rocks and clumps of dirt started to move! The field was filled with Prairie Dogs!

The back track for gasoline had turned into another blessing!
