Ruby dragged herself into her cottage and plopped into her recliner chair, the foot rest went up with a clunk. "I am exhausted!" she exclaimed. She had been going non-stop since she got up on Friday morning.
First of all were last minute details for vacation, cashing in her coins for cash at the bank, and then rushing over to the markethplace for a few things. By the time she had finished it was time for lunch.
Then it was off to the constabulary for her volunteer work. The evening brought guests for the monthly bunco party. Ruby laughed a lot and stayed up way too late talking with friends.
Saturday morning came after a short night of sleep. She quickly prepared herself to meet her family at the cafeteria in the marketplace for breakfast. Her nephew, Olo and his sweetheart Mereyann Moresby were there, as well as the rest of Mungo’s family, Bella and Berilac. Together they took the opportunity to honor Mereyann’s upcoming birthday. Then is was off on a journey to city of Bella and Berilac’s origin to adorn tombs for Memorial Day. Bella and Berilac provided most of the flowers, but sadly, did not make the trip this year. The flowers, combined with those provided by Mungo and Myrtle and those brought by Ruby, made lovely bouquets. After a quick tour of the city, it was off to lunch. The day had gone by rapidly. By the time the journey home was complete Ruby was extremely tired. She did take the opportunity to stop by Mungo’s house to see an example of the bridesmaid’s dresses that Myrtle had skillfully handcrafted. Ruby was thoroughly impressed.
Now, Ruby was home, happy but tired, and it was time for late afternoon nap.
