The Case of the Missing Carnations

There is a mystery brewing at the infirmary. Last week was celebrated as "Employee Appreciation Days". As part of the celebration each employee received a colorful live carnation. Those who worked the early shift combined theirs into a bouquet and set it on the counter for all to enjoy. Ruby and fellow evening stenographers came in and enjoyed the bouquet as well. The next morning, the combined bouquet had disappeared. The early workers wanted an explanation from Ruby's fellow workers. They had no explanation to give. Where did they go?
