Minutes

The meeting of The Mateiral Girls Sewing and Social Club was called to order at 10:30 a.m. in the corner booth at the Elvis restaurant on Saturday February 19.

Present:
Marigold Boffin
Daisy Speckletrout
Ruby Hardbottle.

Absent:
Bramblerose Hardbottle

Old Business:
All participants brought out their quilt blocks and Ooooos and ahhhhhs were shared.

New business:
1.SHOP HOP: The 2006 Shop Hop will be held June 22 through June 26. A motion was made to begin on Thursday, June 23 by separately obtaining Lower-Columbia area blocks.Thursday evening Ruby Hardbottle will come and spend the night at Marigold Boffin's cottage after work, where Daisy Speckletrout will be waiting. They will then slowly make their way north, stopping two nights this time, Friday night and Saturday night. They will be concentrating more on obtaining enough blocks for a quilt, and slowly enjoying where the journey takes them, rather than rushing to be sure to make it to all of the shops. The motion was seconded and the vote was unanimously in favor. Daisy reminded Marigold to make sure her tires are properly inspected this time. They unanimously agreed to skip the shop run by the wicked witch.

2.UFO-BEACH RETREAT: A motion was made and seconded to have a beach retreat in which work would be done on each members UFOs. (Unfinished Objects) A vote was held and was unanimously in favor of this motion. Marigold Boffin suggested it may be possible to stay in one of her time shares. Possible dates need to be suggested.

3.LABOR DAY IN SPOKANE: Daisy Speckltrout reported that we should plan to leave on Thursday September 1 and return on Tuesday, September 6. Mother Mergatroid is looking forward to the visit.

4. RUBY'S BIRTHDAY: Ruby Hardbottle a will be at the coast over her birthday and
expressed interest in getting together with Marigold, Divot and Daisy. Further discussion is pending.

5. NEW YEARS EVE 2007 : Ruby Hardbottle presented the following proposal: 8 DAYS in Rome over New Years, 2007. The suggestion was discussed. Further disucssion will be held at the next meeting.

There being no further business, and breafast being completed, the meeting was adjourned.
