Ruby Hardbottle-International Woman of Mystery

"What will I say?' "How will I act?" "What if I embarrass myself, or worse what if I embarass other people?" Ruby's old worries were haunting her again as entered the city hall to help with the lunch for the visiting Japanese. Once again, her fears proved to be unfounded. What a warm, friendly and outgoing group they were. She sat next to a gentleman who asked her where she had been and what she liked to do and then told her of his visit to Yosemite, and of his dog, a laborador named "Bud."

There was a distinguished guest at the lunch, the photographer who took the picture of the mountain which won the Pulitzer prize, and appeared in national magaines. He gave each member of the delgation a poster of the picture which he autographed. They were deeply impressed and honored. The lunch ended quickly then, because the visitors had other things on their schedule to see and do.

Ruby then rushed off to the constabulary for her weekly volunteer work. It was especially fun today, because she got tained on entering field incident reports into the computer. She spent her afternoon fighting crime in this fashion.

She then hurried home to change her clothes, for she was invited to a fancy dinner at the mansion as a guest of the Japanese. Ruby was very impressed, she was among important people by Bywater standards, the mayor and his wife, the new chief of police, two or three executives from local industry, the architect of city hall, the aforementioned mountain photographer, to mention a few. The dinner was wonderful, and everyone had fun.

"Today was one of those day's I will look back on and remember." Said Ruby.
