The good elves came over to Hambut's house and magically transformed the warehouse into a cute little ranch style house with a big living room, a library and a radio production / music room. Hambut smiled to himself as he thought about Ruby coming over for her piano lesson. Even if she had not practiced (piano students never do) he would have time to show her how the junkyard in the back had been transformed into a park, with a flowering Hawthorn tree and the roses. He was particularly happy about the roses. He also was eager to show Ruby the special place up the hill where the magic fritter tree grows. Mrs. Proudfoot liked the dark chocolate cakes, but Ruby liked the apple fritters, and Hambut enjoyed giving Elf Nancy some of his special silver and copper coins in trade for the dark chocolate cakes and the fritters she picked every morning from the fritter tree.
After work, Ruby took Hambut home. Mrs. Proudfoot was still up and reported that the elves had come over again and had a Bible study and had consumed lots of pizza and lemonade. What fun that must have been. What a good day it had been. Now it was time to contact the Ambien fairy and hide beneath the big blue quilt and go to sleep. The big red dog had been fed, taken outside, and was now curled up on his big, soft pillow bed.
