Ruby opened the long narrow box and pulledout her shiny new laptop. She had been saving up for it and internally rejoiced that purchase day had finally arrived. “Now”, she said to herself, “I am getting back into blogging and picture taking!”
Thanksgiving is coming. Ruby and Archie are preparing for guests in their home. This means major painting projects. The change is dramatic. Ruby was struck as she walked into the freshly painted living room. “It looks like an entirely different place!” The colors are a big step away from the white walls that have lined Ruby’s cottage since she purchased it 12 years ago.
The couple is expecting 10 to 12 guests for Thanksgiving. The menu is ready. Groceries will be purchased today. It appears that the holidays are solidly upon us. Ruby and her new step-daughters took part in the traditional gingerbread building party last week end. Last evening Ruby and Archie went on a date and saw the new Christmas Carol movie.
While drinking her Chocolate-Peppermint Mocha at the coffee shop after the movie, Ruby sat back in her overstuffed chair and sighed, “I am already in the Christmas spirit.”
