A Trip to Farm Country Part IV

Sunday morning was set aside as horseback riding day at Poppy Mergatroid's home, 40 miles south. They had a little trouble finding the place. But Ruby enjoyed every minute of the search.

At last they reached the place where Poppy lives and cares for horses.

The Destination

Poppy greeted them and gave them the tour, introducing the visitors to all of the horses there. Finally she picked out her favorite one and harnessed him.

Ollie and Daisy took a ride. Ruby declined.

When the riding was done, Poppy removed the saddle and brushed the horse down. She then lead him to the pasture.

"The horses seem to make Poppy very happy." said Ruby as they drove away. "I hope she doesn't hang up her saddle too soon"
