"When it rains, and I am driving home at night, I am definitely changing my route from the freeway to my cottage!" Ruby exclaimed, and who could blame her.
The road from the freeway to her cottage has deep ruts worn in it that fill up with water when it rains, thus making hydroplaning a real possibility. On the night in question, she did her best to keep her wheels on the high parts , avoiding the deep ruts. This was a difficult thing to do, but she did not hydroplane. The truck in the next lane did, spraying water across her windshield, blocking all view of the road ahead of her. Ruby was suddenly pale with fright, scared she might hit a guard rail, or something worse! She slowed to a near stop, thanking the Lord there was no one close behind her. Within a few seconds she could see out the windsheild, but her heart was still pounding, and it did so for the remainder of her trip home.
Tuesday's rain made Ruby long for the time when she will be able to work from her home.
