I'll Be Home For Christmas

"I am 54 years old and I have never missed a Christmas at home with my family!"

Ruby was boasting. She was also feeling warm and nostalgic as she thought back on the many Christmases she has had. The smell of the tree, the warmth of the fire, and all of the laughter. Ruby's family laughs a lot!

One of her earliest Christmas memories was one in which she received a tricycle. And for that one night only, she was allowed to ride in the house. She did so with glee! The same thing happened a few years later when she received a bike with training wheels, and when she got her roller skates!

One year her grandmother dressed up like Santa Claus and brought her and Mungo a shiny new red wagon. The Santa costume frightened Ruby so badly, she ran into the bedroom, startling her grandfather who was getting dressed, and just pulling up his trousers when she busted into the room and slipped under the bed to hide.

In later years more family members were added simply making Christmases even warmer and increasing the laughter.

"We will have a new family member this year" said Ruby, referring to Olo's bride, Meryeann... I am very excited about this year's family festivities!

Everybody Sing:

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents under the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams
