How is Mother Mergatroid?

"I am so worried about Daisy's mom" said Rosie Brandybuck.

"Me too," said Ruby, "but the news is much better today."

Yesterday Daisy had left for the eastern part of the state with rather grim prospects regarding Mother Mergatroid. She was having trouble breathing and her heart was beating irregularly. She has had these symptoms since early early fall, but things had gotten worse, she was in the hospital, and her last hope was a specialist in a nearby city.

Ruby's concern brought her to making a phone call to "Daisy" to find out what the specialist had told them.

"Things are much better today" said Daisy. "Mother Mergatroid had a good night's sleep. The transfer to the city hospital went well. The doctor seems to think he is treating two unrelated problems and he won't be doing surgery, at least not now."

Ruby felt much better after hearing this news. She sighed in relief and said "I believe our prayers were answered with a resounding "Yes!"
