One of THOSE Days

"With all the modern techology that exists, why havn't they done something about that noise!" Ruby was speaking to the dental assistant regarding that high-pitched, menaching sound made by the dentist's drill. She was waiting for her mouth to go numb for the second time, because the first shot was not potent enough. It was just one more thing to pile on the minor misfortunes that she had been plagued with the past couple of days.

It started when she got to the infirmary yesterday and noticed she had forgotten her name tag. "Bother! she said, now I have to dig into my cash for dinner, and pay 20% more! Then on two different occasions, she was 3/4 complete entering a report into the computer when the computer stalled, causing her to loose what he had done and requiring her to start over. "Blast!" she said. Later on that evening, while chewing gum, a filling fell out. "@&#^$%%!" she said. This lead to her current dental-chair cirumstance.

"I think we will need to put a crown on that eventally" said the dentist. Ruby just shook her head.
