Ruby had a lovely Thanksgiving with her family on Friday.
"Unfortunately, there is not much time for basking in its glow," she said, "it seems to be the kick-off for the Christmas season."
The stores are full of Christmas-related items, in fact it started nearly a month ago. Now the Christmas lights go up in homes, Santa shows up at the shopping mall, and if plans weren't made already they are now made with haste as the 25th of December approaches. There will be a parade next Saturday down the main street of Bywater with official lighting of the city's Christmas lights. There will be fattening food at work all month long, and there will be many many parties.
"I am going to dig out my Christmas music" Ruby said. "The best way to get into the Christmas Spirit is to "FAKE IT 'TIL YOU MAKE IT!"
Everybody Sing:
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.
A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.
