What a week!

Ruby slowly drifted awake this morning and rolled over to look at the clock. Ahhhh, 9 o'clock. It was the first day all week she had been able to sleep to this hour.

On Monday, she had her weekly house cleaning chores and of course her piano lesson at Hambut Proudfoot's house. Ruby likes to say that she and Hambut are recording a CD. What they are doing is recording some songs she is learning into his computer. She plays the melody on one piano and he embellishes it with another piano and then adds further embellishments with he computer. Ruby and Hambut are enjoying this project, even though it just for fun.

While Ruby was still in bed on Tuesday, the phone rang, it was Myrtle. "Olo and Mereyann surprised us with a visit last night, and they want to get together and show you pictures of the honeymoon" she said. Ruby, of course was happy to hear this news and quickly prepared herself to go to the Bracegirdles to meet up with Bella, Berilac, Pearl and Pimpernil Bracegirdle, Olo and Mereyann. A lovely morning was spent as Olo and Mereyann described the things they saw and did on their cruise. They had many pictures. Ruby was once again impressed at what a lovely couple they are.

The alarm rang at 7 o'clock on Wednesday morning. Ruby had to make a potato salad for a potluck/staff meeting at the constabulary. There was lots of food at the meeting. The constabulary is in the process of remodeling and also starting a new computer program that Ruby will have to learn. She will be taking some classes. Ruby loves classes... It's a chance to do something different for a day, with some new people. Just her cup of tea.

Pearl Bracegirdle is always thinking of ways to get people together. So when her church guild was having a meeting at Pansy Goldworthy's home, she naturally invited Ruby to come. The invitation was not to attend the meeting, but to visit with Pansy's daughter, Orangeblossom, with whom Pansy lives. On Thursday morning Ruby again got up with the alarm clock and prepared for work, and then met the guild ladies at the church. She lead the caravan up the highway to Orangeblossom's home. Ruby had a fantastic visit with Orangeblossm. They have been friends for years, and circumstances seemed to get in the way of seeing her as much as she would like. The visit took off as though they had just seen each other last week. They had plenty to talk about. Ruby enjoyed some of Pansy's Finnish pastries and coffee. She got a tour of Pansy's new quarters. It was a very nice way to spend the morning.

Now Friday has arrived. Ruby is ready for her weekend...
