Hands Across the Water Part VI: Japanese Culture Night

"Ruby, may we cook dinner tonight?" said Shiho. Ruby quickly said "Yes" and so on their way home from the beach they stopped at the store and bought the supplies the girls would need.

It was a treat for Ruby to sit back and relax while the girls busily worked in the kitchen. They fixed a delicious curry/pork and rice dish. Everyone had second helping.

After dinner, the girls went to their room to pack while Ruby, Baby Rube and Bramblerose did the dishes. After cleaning up, Baby Rube knocked on the girl's bed room door, "Will you teach us to do origami?" she said. Misato said, "Yes, but wait just a minute." Soon the girls appeared in Japanese Kimonos. Shiho explained that they use them for festivals. Ruby, B.R. and Bramblerose where impressed. The costumes were beautiful, and it meant a lot to them that the Japanese Girls were willing to show them.

The Origami lesson then began. First each of the ladies folded a paper crane with the close supervision of Misato and Shiho. Then, together they each folded a side and Misato and Shiho took them and formed paper cube. Finally, Misato had Shiho said" We will make a complex one and give it to you." They folded and folded. Bramblerose said "The are very talented!" Finally they produced a paper hexagon. Ruby, Baby Rube, and Bramblerose responded with applause, they were amazed.
