Ruby awoke this morning and pondered her day.. On Mondays she changes her sheets, vacuums and mops. Then she leaves early for Hambut Proudfoot's house for her piano lesson. After that it's off to work, taking Hambut and his guide-dog Popo with her. It sounded busy, but mundane. So she decided to take the following verse from the book of Proverbs to heart:
"When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise." Prov. 10:19
P.S. Ruby's closest friend, Ivy Tighfield, hates her name. Ruby told her that she should take this up with mother; however, Ivy was not satisfied with that answer. Ivy has insisted on changing her name to Daisy Speckletrout... Ruby has reluctantly complied. It is always difficult when friends change their name, but henceforth, any references to "Daisy Speckletrout" or "Daisy" refers to the actual Ivy Tighfield.
